The Z's Won't Come (Day 5)

by WritingtheStars   Dec 6, 2014

Eyes slowly closing
as I long for sleep,
my mind,
being that rebel it is,
refuses to shut off.

No energy,
dark circles,
and suffocating yawns plague me.
All of this because my mind
won't understand it needs rest.

How cruel it is,
forcing me to witness the
rising of the sun
each morning,
when all I want
is to sleep.

This is a very well penned piece and i love the way you went about writing it. You not only captured the perfect scene from your day but you made it relateable to everyone who has ever been a teenager
