Birth

by James Garrett   Dec 18, 2014

BIRTH

What lies within the covered womb,
Whose diminsions are determined by
A sovereign bloom?

For breaking dawn it is not yet time
When nature brings forth it's grand design.

What yonder light will split the seed
And create the miracle of thought and deed?

The arrival of man, perfected at birth,
Is springing forth into a life of indeterminate worth.

Shall fate determine as sperm and egg unite?
Or is man cast out to play the actor on the stage to determine his plight?

Fate or circumstance, which is it to be?
If not man then only God can know this great mystery.
