Three Little Nails:

by Scott Cole   Feb 8, 2015

On a hillside in Calvary
still stuck in the mud,
There sits this lone Cross
that's stained with blood.

It's old and rugged
battered and split,
But if you look closer
there's three little nails in it.

A real reminder to us all
what our Savior Jesus done,
He was crucified on that stained Cross
from those three little nails he hung.

He was tortured and beaten until he began to bleed
and as his precious blood flowed down,
That's how the Cross was stained
that's how our sins were drown.

With those three little nails within him
with those thornes upon his head,
And by those stripes that he wore
our debt was paid with every blood drop he shed.

As his blood continued to flow
he soon grew weak and frail,
But still hung there and suffered some more
thanks to those three little nails.

When our Savior had finally had all he could take
with his blood all gone and his face was pale,
When his battered body could bruise no more
they removed him from those three little nails.

So if you ever look upon that hillside in Calvary
at first glance all you will see is that blood stained Cross
but if you take a closer look you will also see
those three little nails that help save the lost.
