Reality in perserverance

by Jonny212   Mar 1, 2015

Your tears were our fear
Bringing us pain
Love is so real
Until our heart gets compressed by the truth
That's when you realize there's nothing to lose
Your heart gets so bruised
You try to mask the pain but your frown comes around
You feel so down
Inside you scream for help
Outside you remain an inaudible mess
Disabled by pain
Its alright to scream even if you do look insane

Wish they were around to end all the ache that your soul currently maintains
This is the truth
What happened occurred for a reason
If not divine
We make our own path
Optimism can't last you a life time
Lost as you wallow in the sublime
Don't hate your self
Lay waste to the shame that shadows
Regain your pride
Take control of life

Love is real and so is hatred
Decimate loathing
Love yourself
Your existence was never a crime
Give your self time
Put in the work
Enjoy the reward earned by your effort
You can't perish just yet
You will win the battle

I love how this poem takes such a realistic approach to life but ends on such a positive note.
"Optimism can't last you a life time
Lost as you wallow in the sublime"
These lines really speak to me, and have such power.
    Great poem.
