Truth in stars

by Brookie   Mar 24, 2015

I write truth in secrets meant only for you.
I wrote them under your bed so you'd never sleep alone
on the nights the stars forgot to shine and tell you
"It'll be okay"

I guess you'll never understand the emphasis
I put into trust that I still find underneath
what we pretended to be for a little while,
till the stars shot across the sky in a suicide.

You know, I'll still be your shooting star.
I'd burn my lights brighter for you screaming
"It will be more then okay you will be loved!"
as I engulfed my own existence to strengthen yours.

Just remember, when there are no lights shining
I'm still out there somewhere, writing truths for you,
Putting them in bottles hoping you'll read them
realizing that I wasted every shooting star on you.

This is really touching and lovely to read.

I like the use of the stars, I know they are cliché, but it works here and makes a nice scene.

Nice work and I like the title and its meaning.

I really, really like this one. It's a great concept and you chose a simple enough word choice to really make the creativity shine! I love it :)
