Why we weep

by Brookie   Apr 11, 2015

Strength has been found in more foriegn places
But when tears fall from my eyes to the ground
I know then that I'm stronger then the pain
that inevitable surrounds us in this life.

Durring the day im like a titan, strong and adamant;
deflecting the blows that God himself has delt to me,
with a smile on my face i try to take the lessons to heart.
I try to love unconditionally so that no one else will share this sorrow.

But the sad truth is even hell can be comfortable with time,
and at night the smile slowly washes away, tears in its place.
They stream down like the most beautiful waterfall,
washing away the pain that has been collected that day...

... and renewing the strength we have found within us.

    ^ I LOVE THIS. There is nothing that rings more true then the first line. we find strength in what seemingly are the most strange places. Tears are a great way to cope from life, and lets us heal from what is hurtful. I love the hopeful presence you brought to life here. because I think a lot of people can relate to what this says. people cry a lot more than we think they do, because people are so tired, they need a release of emotions to feel better.

    ^ More hopeful endeavors that this piece holds within. Despite what you have been through you are trying to hold onto what happiness you can. there are a few grammar issues here, but as I think you probably did this on your phone I am not going to point them out ^^. Also I love the ending line here. It does a great job in detailing the stanza. You don't want anyone to face the things that you have had to.

    ^ What a beautiful ending willow. It is not often you write a hopeful poem like this and I loved it. will nominate when I can (if no one beats me to it). But yes when we go through depression we always get used to it, and happiness seems so strange. but I love how you combined the darkness and turned it into light. beautiful work hon. 5/5
