Shame on me

by Eric Ngobeni   Apr 14, 2015

I was a jack the land.
Dead from the neck up,
Dump as a rock,
Dump as a post,
Rolled with the punches.
Not knowing which way the wind blows.
Not keeping my nose to the grindstone.
My life went belly up,
Because of fair weather friends.
I was always playing hooky,
Being in a high of kite,
Being a doubting Thomas,
And it brought me a kiss of death.
'Oh, monkey see, monkey do!
