We close but not cigar

by Eric Ngobeni   Jun 15, 2015

We can dream gigantic
And run into the sand.
We can also dream gigantic
And pull out all the stops.
When things are not clean bill of health,
We throw our parents under the bus.
While we know that is our own Himalayan blunder.
When we don't cut the mustard at school,
We bite our teacher's heads off.
While we know that we need to work our tails off.
When we see our peer's success,
We tend to be green with envy.
While we know that success is a long row to trail.
And there is a mountain to climb.
