Lonely Poets

by Brookie   Jul 12, 2015

Us, poets, evoke on emotions that
no matter how simple are never
ever the same between two humans.

this is why a single poem
a poet can cry endless tears
and others find relief in.

the reader say,
At least im not alone!
but reality hasn't hit yet.

the reader might very well be amongst
thousands of millions who feel
the exact emotion they do

but the poet is and forever will be

alone

the biggest question isn't
when will they find their flock but
rather when will the reader become

as alone as the poet.
there is a fine line between understanding
and living.

it's our job to make words have life
to make every reader feel alone
to force out the feelings that they hide

for the secrecy of their bedrooms
to turn truth into the lies they've spread
and multiply the desire that created them.

a poets job is to die.
alone.
