Overthinking

by Jay Colon   Aug 9, 2015

4 in the morning
My mind wonders
My heart aches
I don't understand
Why do you lie?
I know it's not me
The problem is you
Are you really that much of a coward?
That you can't tell me the truth
Why string me along because you're confused
Or is it because of your selfish needs
Why the frequent changes?
One day you know me
The next day I'm nonexistent
You know you don't want to be with me
So tell me
Why are trying to keep me around?
What are you trying to prove?
I don't want be up anymore
I want to sleep
Only if I didn't let everything bother me
Every emotion taking control
I'm getting sick to my stomach
My mind crowded with questions
What do I have to do with you?
Are you bored and lonely?
Is it all for sex?
Trying to figure out the answer
At least hoping to get one
Then I realized
Your silence is the answer
Speaking loud and clear
Then again my thoughts consume me
Repeating these questions
Why string me along because you're confused
Or is it because of your selfish needs
Why the frequent changes?
One day you know me
The next day I'm nonexistent
You know you don't want to be with me
So tell me
Why are trying to keep me around?
What are you trying to prove?
