Path

by Love Hurts   Aug 14, 2015

He's the sun in my life, always he shines
But I am too dull, too grey to be bright.
He needs those splashes of gold, those beams of light
All I can provide is darkness and pale moonlight.
I love you he whispers with the wind.
I try to whisper back, but then the rain begins.
Dark thundering clouds of doubt stand in my way, tormenting me for being too brave.
Lightening strikes, warning me to never stay
Or all I'll receive is heartbreak for believing in my own way.
Follow the lonely path that was made,
Or die of love and the agony it brings.
So I chose the road where I am free of the pain that threatens me,
Even if I'll always be alone with no one but me.
