Suleman's Carpet

by Ashraf Al Deen   Aug 21, 2015

I was gazing at the sky with my naked eyes,
To locate a small bird flying with other few
from Algiers to Cairo and then
to the Dead Sea from Amman, may be, it requires
a refreshing mud-bath!
I wanted to see the traces it has left
with its tiny wings in the vast blue canvas;
I wanted to see the line it has written, of poetry,
The music it has composed during the long flight
and the sweet petals of happiness it was spreading
all around the sky during the journey!

I could see none; so primitive are my eyes!

I then turned my heart into Suleman's Carpet
and launched it into the eternity
to take good care of my small bird!

I wait with patience for the happy news.
