I Dream

by Maricris   Sep 25, 2015

When I was a little girl
I dream of becoming an actress
I also dream of becoming a singer
Or perform in the opera and act as an empress.

When I grew bigger
My dreams went further
I dream of being a martial artist
Fighting like ninjas with samurais and iron fist.

I even dream of being a stewardess
Grab my suitcase and travel the world
Oh, I love walking from airport to airport
And meet smiling faces I love to behold.

I even dream of being a lady navy
Standing side by side along the rails
Dressed in white uniforms
Looking so neat and dainty
I dream of sailing in cruise ships and yachts
Watching whales and dolphins out of the foams.

You couldn't imagine a lady with lots of dreams
Because I even dream to travel across the Sahara
With Arabs on caravans and on stallions they race
I love to have a closer look of zebras and elephants in the wilds of Africa.

Am I that lucky or not
Because neither of these came true
That is why most of the time I feel so blue
Because I never dreamed of becoming a mother so soon
Kids run to and fro.

For now I am just a mother
Do cross stitch, clean, cook and wash in the lather
But I'm still dreaming far and beyond
Keeping the dream alive, how can I stop the pen in my hand?

I still can't figure out how I came to be
All this time I still dream and refuse to accept the reality
I read maps and lots of books
Even study nature, places and culture of humanity.

One of these dreams I still want to pursue
Is to meet strangers, friends old and new
Talk about life, goodwill, peace and prosperity
I still wish this do come true.

Because these are just dreams and a fantasy
Like the light and the wind, awesome and free.
