Taking Control

by Sherry Lynn   Jul 7, 2004

I’m getting my life back,
Today I took control,
I faced my demon,
And I told him NO!

This is hard for me,
It’s only day three,
But I’m getting stronger,
That’s plain to see.

I crave it all,
Don’t get me wrong,
But with the help of God,
I’ll stay strong.

I can’t believe it,
I fell real hard,
I knew better
Than to even get involved!

It’s a simple thing,
Just one hit,
It won’t hurt you,
It’ll give you a fix.

It can be a friend,
Or an enemy,
It’s plain to see,
Cause it happened to me.

I beat this once,
I can do it again,
I just can’t understand,
How it happened to begin with.

The simple things,
Are now complex,
It’s hard to think,
Cause I want my fix.

Take one for pain,
Hold on to the rest,
Then in the morning
Take one again.
Soon you need two,
Because one won’t do,
Then before you know it,
The drug controls you.

It was all innocent,
I must confess,
Just one little pill
Called darvaset.
