I Want You Back

by PX   Oct 21, 2015

We hooked our pinkies once,
Swore to be best friends forever,
Had sleepovers so frequent,
That we practically lived together.

I could complete your sentence,
Even before you finish it,
We laughed over ridiculous stuff,
And helped each other through all crap and shit.

But people changed and we can't help it,
You found yourself a new best friend,
And left me on the sidelines alone,
Thinking why the hell our friendship must end.

Even talking to you now is painful,
The distant look in your eyes hurts me,
We had run out of topics to share,
Now I know we are not the girls we once wanted to be.

We are more polite than friendly,
Even the smiles are forced and not real,
She understands you better than me now,
I can only hope than through time I will heal.

But though we are no longer close,
And our friendship had long cracked,
But I really do miss you a lot,
And I wanna say I want you back.
