J.A.B.

by Maren L Johnson   Nov 17, 2015

Every time that I hear your name it's like a shot to my heart
And I'm back at the start
I flip through the pages of the lies that you fed me
Say that they're memories
Lies!
I don't buy that

Confused?
Yeah you always are
All your excuses don't go too far.
I guess forever never meant a thing
Now we grown done with childish things.

I was there when you thought your life was over
Always had your back never lied and you know that.
Yeah you know that!
Still you choose to pretend that we're friends
and you never ever hurt me

Avoid it all!
You know it's real.
Birthday wishes and jealousy.
It's all vanity though most of the things that we cling to you know.

You just don't get it!
You think that you do
Watch how you flex
Now they love you.

A dirty little heart is hard to hide
You can make up your face but your sins don't lie

Surprised?
Play the victim.
I really don't care my heart was evicted.
I am no longer conflicted.
I can see that you're fake.
I smell you from a distance.

What more do you want from me?
You stole my will to trust.
Whatchu want ma sanity?
Excuse me?
This can't be real
The feeling I feel
In the pit of me
