The bleak World

by lovely mady   Feb 13, 2016

Just like walking in the shadows of shame
My serenity has finally laid its final seeds of resistance
I have finally found my one aim
Every time I turn around I see the specks of light vanishing one by one.

Here I am at my final destination
An obscure, cimmerian land
With no fear I traveled through the thorny woods of despair, hoping to pass the kingdom of sorrow
But fate had a plan of his own
Not knowing what is lurking around
I passed through the valley of death where I paid my last respects to my vulnerable soul.

And I resumed my journey with every inch of power that is left inside
But with a new spirit I defeated the threats of time
And I managed to stay alive for a bit longer
Thinking that I finally vanquished fate but...
My worst fears and nightmares have been skulking in hopes of destroying me once and for all.

How wrong they were
I myself had a legion of light under my command
Out of the shadowy flashes of memories I found my lost true nature
The sinister flocks of evil have always been the barrier between me and my true self
My sole aim of my existence was to find my own me
Shame has escorted me for years scolding me for not waking to soon.

I finally woke up...
But I found my world sinking in a deep slumber
So I again began my friendless voyage in these lifeless lands
I was powerless and every inch of my body was screaming with pain.

But that didn't stop me...
This time I was even more determined and had a lot of hopes
I was ready to embark this soulless universe in hopes of finding a speck of life to share the world with.

I love the wording and journey you've told here. I would suggest maybe punctuation here and there, but I still enjoyed reading this.

Hopefully we get to see more!

    All the best.

Welcome to poems and quotes. I enjoyed reading this piece. It's more prose than verse, however, it's creative and full of imagery. Not only that, it tells a story. I can't fully relate to it, but I can feel part of the story as I read it.

    Keep writing.

All the best, it's taking me longer than I thought to stay awake. I think anyone can do it.
