I laid my head down,
Tried to sleep,
But memories of you,
Kept coming back to me.

I tried to ignore them,
Getting on with my life,
Then I felt your touch,
Like when you used to sleep by my side.

I rolled over,
Thinking not tonight,
I’ve got to move on,
Get ahead in my life.

I felt your kisses,
So tender and sweet,
On my lips,
As though it was meant to be.

I said once more,
This can’t be happening,
Cause just last week,
God took you from me.
