You and Me

by Hawkeye14   May 26, 2016

I apologize and swallow my pride.
My grief has deceased.
I lost myself in us
and changed because I must.

There's nothing here expect you and me,
I never meant for you to leave.
I hope you can forgive me
to show how special we can be.

Growth I have shown.
I will never let you down
or make you frown.

I do not believe in destiny
but I do believe in you and me.

Listen to the words I say,
and know I love you everyday.
Think back to when we met,
when we both flied away.
We ran fast, never looking back,
until that day you went astray.

The pain is deep
but my love I shall always keep.
Marriage is what I proposed
for you are my mountain rose.

Listen to the words I say,
and feel them throughout the day.
Think back to our college ways,
to Boston in the bay.
We ran fast, never looking back,
to Colorado we'd run away.

You are always in my heart,
my feelings will not depart.
I never knew love,
until I met you my true love.

Listen to the words I say,
and know I mean them in a heartfelt way.
Think back to our beginning,
never thinking it would be ending.
We ran fast, never looking back,
my love for you is unrelenting.
