Disaster (Acrostic)

by stormingdance (Lessa)   Dec 24, 2016

Danger can lurk behind any face
Instigating falsehoods of love and hope
Sacred oaths forksaken by
Angry foes whose battle, psychologically imposed
Sanctioned rites and passages
Taken, stolen by lustful woes
Emptying hearts of innocence
Restitution a simple folly

    Jessica,

Another really good formed piece of poetry from you with a very dark edge to it.

Well done and all the best,

    Jessica,

I'm reading a theme here. It sounds like you've been caused a lot of pain by someone close. I'm glad you're using this anger in a creative way. I wrote a similar one recently called, 'slaughtered in the shadows'

    Take care.

Yes and I am finally seeing that the problem is not me. For so long I've felt ashamed to be me and so defeated. My feelings and dreams never mattered. My succes was shamed and failures mocked by the one person in the world who I needed to believe in me. What is one to do? As an adult, I am still treated this way. But I have the power to walk away and discover belief in my own self.

Anyhow, thanks for commenting and Happy Holidays!
