Your Friendship Is But A Blade (Acrostic)

by stormingdance (Lessa)   Dec 24, 2016

You wear your heart on your sleeve all whilsts begging
Of sympathy - yet your shriek echos in
Unison with your vapid, rapid heartbeat
Rocking, shattering my world, my youth

Faceless in the throes of your fury
Roaring in the faces of your ill perceived enemies
Is alienating your family worth your self righteous pompous dignity?
Erroneous fits of rage, illusions of strife where there is
None - why must you cause such upheaval?
Destiny, to be like you, is my greatest fear
So I gather my strength and shun you
Here, this must stop, end the cycle, sacrifice my bond with you
Instead, I save my energy for those of more import, for your love is like war
Penetrating my weaknesses and taking advantage of my love

Instead, I save my energy for those of more import
Save my courage and love for my children

Because your love has never been
Unconditional - don't expect what has not been
Taught

Anchoring my courage into my heart

Believing through the love of my child, whose
Love is most indeed unconditional
Allowing the light in their eyes to take me
Down the road of motherhood and
End the cycle of abuse

There is much emotion here. Frustrated anger at a parent is understandable when their love is kept on a string.

Jessica, I am blown away from this acrostic. A lot of raw emotions running through this. With friends like this who needs enemies-well done-
