Bo Peep won't do

by uppercase   Dec 27, 2016

At the start, I handed over the key to what is now ruins.
What was given was by choice, nothing is expected in return.
Beautiful because it was real, but not enough to discern.
No words can express how I feel about this fork in the road.

It was always about getting you out, and we succeeded.
Now it's time for reality to guide me back down under.
In the rubble, I reminisced over my blunder.
Surprised, but not in the slightest.

Our journey is one that I will hold close in my solitude.
My only regret is not being able to continue on with you.
We have our own path to walk on, and there are things I must do.
I'm going back down to find others who are lost.

You really did a good one on me, but you know I lay no blame.
In hindsight, you were always the best.
Realistically, to you, I was only a guest.
