Specious Present

by Aegis   Jan 9, 2017

Time
is a fickle illusion that
dances recklessly
through my
fingers.

Yesterday,
the trees gracefully
shed their fiery
Fall coats.

Today,
the sky cried bitter
tears that erased
all trace of
Winter.

I fear tomorrow may arrive
tasting like early Spring-
and Im still choking
on last Summer.

    Aegis,

From what I have read of your work, you have a very delicate and intricate way of writing that is image-rich and a pleasure to read. This is excellent.

    All the very best,

Aegis, this is astounding and will definitely receive my nomination. The thing I like about your writing is it is delicate, unique and so full of imagery that you can imagine being there in that moment.

1/ I like your interpretation of time because time changes constantly going fast then going slow and some days you forget what time or day it is because of how time flies but one thing time doesn't do is stop for anyone so we have to make time to do things especially with those we love before time runs out.

2/ It seems Autumn has gracefully arrived and you describe it in a beautiful way. Autumn is my favourite season watching all the colours of the leaves fall from trees and I love crunching through them like a big kid lol.

3/ I like this as it was like this here today where I was.. Raining and raining and raining and it seemed all winter had gone because it was so mild and wet.

4/ wow, great ending. Soon spring will arrive and I hope you aren't still choking on last summer but I guess this means times flown and you are trying to catch your breath??

    What a wonderful piece.
