Shooting Stars

It's midnight
(12:01 to be exact)
As I toss shooting stars
Out of lit cigarette butts
Under a moonless sky.

And I can't help but wonder...
Where did all my hopeless wishes go?
And how did I get stuck with
All these burned out dreams...
