Replace Replace Replace

by Danielle   Mar 26, 2017

You think you are aware of what you desire, but do you really know?
Are you ready to take a look at what's really in your soul?
All you want are these substitutes to fill an empty space,
Instead of figuring out how to love yourself, you just replace.

You replace with lovers, drugs, or alcohol,
Somehow finding these things to be your only resolve,
Instead of building up, you tear down trying to fill that space.
And when those people just don't understand,
replace, replace, replace.

It's so much easier to run away,
And hope you'll find a better way.
It's easier to avoid the truth inside,
And continue to wear the same disguise.
But that's a sure way to never learn or grow,
Or take that look inside your soul.
And in your heart you'll keep that empty space,
And when it gets too hard,
just replace, replace, replace.
