The Girl That Changed Him

by mary   Jul 9, 2004

He was the player and would always be
The girls thought he was gorgeous
But a loyal relationship could never be
He used them and played them
And that was his life
As long as she was a girl, she was his type
He had a life of one night stands
And would never be just one girls man
Nothing was ever different
They were all the same
They didn't care if the next day he forgot their names
No girl could ever change his mind
Until he saw her
And he said "I have to make her mine"
She was a good girl
And she knew how he was
He was willing to change his world
If she was willing to fall in love
She rejected him to protect herself
But he kept on persisting
Until he had her to himself
He proved to her that he would treat her good
She gave him a chance not thinking anything of it
And convinced herself nothing would happen even if it could
They started talking all night on the phone
They were both so into each other
He claimed his pimpin days are done
And now they could really be with each other
Two months later they fell in love
They had a perfect relationship
Without giving anything up
She had changed him
It was easy to see
They moved slow
And that made them fall in love quickly
One night his voice was shaking on the phone
After a while he spit out,
A girl came over when he was home alone
She knew what happened so she hung up
He called her back saying,
"I'm sorry I messed up!"
It took two months but she took him back
He swore he would change
And she didn't turn her back
From that point on he was a perfect guy
He went to her family parties
And said one day she'd be his wife
Everyone knew how perfect they were
They envyed their relationship
But no one else mattered
From ups and downs, they made it through
They argued a lot
And he was sometimes rude
He cheated again and this time it was it
She said to never speak to her again
But of course she didn't mean it
She was hurt more than words can say
She gave him her heart
And he ripped it away
He swore this would be the last
And it meant nothing to him
And to leave it in the past
Soon after they got back together
Everyone was warning her
But she chose to stick with each other
She thought maybe he was cheating because he didn't get enough love
After one year, everything she had
She gave it up
And it only made things worse
They kept breaking up and getting back together
Ever since that night
It made ever detail hurt so much more
She started getting obsessive
As he slowly slipped away
He would get what he wanted
And ignorantly walk away
Of course he still loved her
But everything had changed
There was nothing left to look forward to
So he started playing his games
After 3 years together they'll never forget
She was the girl that changed him
He was the guy that she regret
They both can't love anyone else
Although they don't talk
They keep their thoughts to themselves
Even though they're just friends
She still sneaks him over
She does this for a year until it completely ends
Every time she saw him it hurt her more
That this was the guy she attempted to change
But he says nothing as he sneaks out the door
He wants to be with her again
But he knows it can't work out
They don't talk after they see each other
As he eventually fades out
He talks to other girls still thinking of her
She talks to other guys still thinking of him
They don't let each other know what they're really thinking
They see each other at the movies, each with someone else
But they act like they couldn't see
They remember when they were in love, and would never think of anyone else
All throughout the movie they think of each other
But they eventually forget completely as they move on to others
He goes back to playing and never gets married
She can never trust anyone and somehow always finds the worst men
They'll never forget they're young love they once had
He remembers her as the girl that changed him
She forgets him as the guy she wish she never had
