Swept away

by Risqué   Nov 17, 2017

Silver night
The stars cast away from the shine of this moon
A fevered love gone too soon
My eyes fall upon your shadow,
your footsteps in the sand
And here I thought we'd finally reached dry land
Here I was thinking you'd understand

You had me believing our vows meant 'for always'
That always meant you'd try
That there would never be such a goodbye
Such lies lay with the women who seek your face
Who seek your bed and your kiss
Things I swore I'd never miss

The salt of the ocean
Streaking down my face
Begging to erase
The mistakes we've made.
