Feeling a little like this myself, sadly. Still, it'll be over soon ;-)
    A comical, yet exasperating poem.
    Well done.

Yes, it can be a confusing time of year, can't it? We spend so much time planning and spending and getting caught up in the commercialism of it all, that when we finally stop and take a breath, we often find a sort of hollow emptiness to it all...a feeling of not feeling quite the way we should, I suppose.

Anyway, well done on this - a more realistic take on this 'special' time of year...

Kitty, I'll second Ben on this because he hit the nail in the head for me. Ahhhh, such a tiring season and yet...whew where did my Christmas spirit fly? haha

Ah thanks for your lovely comments Ben. I often wonder if I'd feel different if I had some time off to look forward to over Christmas, but perhaps not! ;-) x

Nice rhyming piece that captures christmas for a great many people. Too much food and stress especially for Mums can kill the Christmas spirit. Really enjoyable read. Milly x

    Miss Kitty,
I love this piece, reflecting on your feelings around Xmas. I thought to myself the other day, when I was a child there was no internet shopping, and my town was busy with shoppers.
Now its mad - even with internet shopping, the town feels even crazier and busy. Its all a different story being older haha
    Much love
    Michael :)x

Really good piece. I can definitely relate to wanting to enjoy something but being too spent to do so...
