I found a dandelion

I found a dandelion,
That once someone picked,
Left alone
On a sidewalk.

It was a rare specimen
Transitioning to a preliminary state of death,
Yet in the peak of beauty,
Such that I fell for it.

Took it with me.
Kept it with me.
Watched its beauty fade away.
It was the loveliest decomposed matter I had ever seen.
