From War

by zvikov   Jul 28, 2018

There we stood on the prairie
As the sun set that night
For victory had been won
On the plains of Magod
Yet no cheer was in the camp
No joy, no shout of triumph
For the earth had drank the blood
Of enemies and brothers alike

But then a song arose
The silky of voice of a sad maiden
Singing:
“The sunset’s violet rays
Are like tears from the sun
She mourns the fate of man
From war, peace has begun”

War strikes a "win" and a "loss"
    When will we learn?
