The Castle Made Of Sand

The Castle

If only I can see it clearly
If only I can know the sign
If only the unseen can speak
If onlys is now only what I speak

I follow the stars in search of signs
It takes everywhere but where you are
A cruel twist of fate for the seeker of truth
Brought to the threshold of the journey with no end

Is fate a way one must take in vein?
Or is it the universe connives with it to deal with me?
Answers I must seek but the quest is unyielding to me

Follow me you must as we conquer the world
Burn everything to the round and build something good in its place
Or we can just fly away to deep space
To lands of celestial beauty no eye had seen
Man or jinn only dream of it in fable but not much is known

May be fate would smile at me and all a I said will be true
Man must dream even in the belly of the beast
Castles where built on mountain of sand
And in the ground lies the tale of unsung heroes of the past.

This piece feels full of depth. The search for the illusive only to find at journeys end that the prize is lost. Can be a metaphor for the disappointments in life, the recognition of goals unmet. It has an almost wistful magical outlook and that glimmer of hope that keeps us going against all adversity. That inner wish that fate will smile and make the untrue true. The never ending belief that heroes do exist and that all is possible is what makes life worth living even through the darkest moments of uncertainty. Milly x
