Paranoia

by Horanne   Jan 1, 2019

Constant fears circle my head
Call it paranoia
When you’re with her, you seem happier
When you’re with me, you seem sad and alone

You assure me it will be alright
“She’s just a friend,” you say
You would always laugh and walk away
Do you expect me to believe that.

I saw you with her
Her hand wrapped around your arm
It’s a wonder you’re still here
Cupid picked his target

Months have passed
The paranoia grown stronger
Did you expect me to believe you
When you said it was “just a sleepover”

What’s on your neck?
It’s all black and blue
“I fell,” you lied
With that, you were gone.

I’m glad you’re happier
All it took was a visit to your work
Your hands were wrapped around her
Lips pressed to her neck

You called it paranoia
I knew the truth
When you were with me, you were with her too.

You just know when someone's heart is elsewhere. You second guess it but deep down you know. Well done with this.
