For a friend and her dear husband, who will soon be with his kin.

Just because you see it rise,
you may not see it fall,
Sun up is a golden gift,
Face it proud and tall,
Precious is the mortal coil,
Diamonds equal not our time,
Words can never justice give,
No word, no story, no rhyme,
Waste not in search of meaning,
Go to where you're happy,
That is the most you'll gain,
Joy is of your own creation,
Come Sun, come snow, come rain,
When the clock runs out,
Think not on what went foul,
But smile for those who see you off,
Go out with a mighty bow.
