Pretty As A Peacock

I didn't know
some ants had wings
or cicadas burrowed their way
out of the soil
and out of their skin
on their way to become
the big winged creature
who sings.

    Neither one of them sound very nice. I came into contact with flying cockroaches in the Philippines and Maybugs (clicking flying beetles) in Surrey so now most flying insects freak me out. A deceptive title that lulls the reader into a false sense of security :) Milly x
