wishing on a star

He stares in the distance
Thinking about the girl he loves
she lives so far away
In another part of the world

She never said I love you
Maybe she will tell him today
but he has her in his heart
and It's where she’s going to stay

She sits on her bed tonight
she’s tired from a long day
She looks at a picture of the boy she loves
he lives in the USA

She knows that she loves him
But she never told him it before
But when she talks to him tomorrow
She will tell him for sure

He goes out with some friends
for just a Sunday morning country drive
and they were hit by a drunken driver
Now he’s in a coma fighting for his life

The doctor came out of the emergency room
With blood on his clothes
He said it’s much too early to say
Let’s wait and see how it goes

She knows that he loves her
because he tells her it every day
and she wants him in her heart
And never let him go away

she looks at her phone
and she wonders where he is tonight
while outside her bedroom window
a star shines so bright

His parent hugs each other and cries
he was so very young
They bury him today
with flowers on the ground

She waited for him every day
and she would cry every night alone
She needs to tell him how much she loves him
As she dials his number on her phone

She looks out of the window
And her tears fall on the floor
Maybe he meets another girl
And he doesn't love her anymore

Depress and heartbroken
She thinks that he forgets her
But she will keep on wishing
Wishing on a star

Her broken heart couldn't love again
and she seeks refuge at the holy convent
taking care of the sick and the needy
was how the rest of her life was spent

And when she died many years after
and she enters heaven's gate
She sees him standing there too
and he said "do you know how long
I’ve stood there waiting for you
