When I'm With You

by DestinyAwaits   Jul 12, 2004

These tears I shed of pain,
Are the signs of my heart breaking.
In your eyes I'm just ordinary and plain,
Keeping myself from the moves I could be making.

There were times I thought you could hear my heart beat,
When we'd lay there and just stare into each others eyes.
All I have are these urges to allow our lips to meet,
But the fear of rejection holds me back for I have no tears left to cry.

As I lay there and take in every breath,
Soaking up the smell of your sweet skin.
If only you could explore the depth,
Of the feelings the lie within.

I love it when you wrap your arms around me,
And pull me to your chest so tight.
My life feeling complete and carefree,
Remembering every second of the night.

When you speak to me one on one,
It's as if time stands still.
I then begin to think I have finally won,
The one persons heart I care for and always will.

You once asked me what makes me happy,
Well the joy in my life is being with you.
When ever my days have been really crappy,
You seem to always know what to do.

It's so hard for me to not get attached,
And feel the way I do.
Hearing everyone say how we're a perfect match,
And facing the fact that I can never be with you.

To know that you don't feel the same,
Makes things even more rough.
But it's so confusing with the way you say my name,
Maybe it's all just one big bluff.

All I can do is give it time,
And allow our relationship to grow.
And when we're meant to be,
Well, I guess we'll just know.
