The Girl He Stole

by Sansa Jones   Nov 12, 2019

I feel her dying
I can’t feel her anymore
What will our family say
What will they think
She was who they knew
Who they loved
Not what she has become
He made her this
When he tried to take everything away
The things she wanted to keep he wanted even more
To get what he wanted
He tried
By force
By fake love
By causing her pain
Until she finally broke
He will never leave her mind
Always there as the one who hurt her the most
He caused her to change
He caused her to slowly die
Only pushing her down
He is the one
The one to cause this change
The depression
The self hate
The lack of trust
He is the reason why
Everything that has happened has lead to this
The inevitable darkness that won't stay inside
It won’t go away and doesn't want to hide
But now because of him causing all this
She sink into her skin to find feelings of bliss
Because of the fear he put inside
She has to hide
She has to live with the fear of her friends
She has to worry about them being like him
She opens up but stays in fear of those who know
Her life is full of fear and hate
Hate for herself and for him
Fear he will come back and finish what he started
Now he has come back
He is in her mind where he now lives
As the constant reminder of what she could be
What she should be what she never will be
Of that girl he stole away
