I have a dog called Willow, and she gives me this exact same love and loyalty you write of here, MA. Enough to say, I get this!

    All the best as ever.

MarryAnne, I'm sorry I don't leave comments often, but be sure I always read your writes. Baxter saved my life (once, literally, there was a gas leak in the house and he barked until we went into the kitchen and found out). His emotions are pure, his love is unconditional. I know for sure he'd die for me, and I for him. I never thought I could love someone this much. He's a family member, the most spoiled and loved member in our house. I know exactly how you feel. Most people let you down, people who are SUPPOSED to love you unconditionally and support you. Even the things you used to believe in before, turned out to be untrue and disappointing. But his love has always been true, and he would never leave your side. <3

Oh please don't ever apologize! Thank you so much for reading, that means the world... and yes, that is exactly it. I didn't know I could love someone so much either. I would die for him as well.

You always get me and I love that you have your Baxter in your life. He sounds like (and is) an angel. And he's blessed to have your love too. Aren't they just so incredible in the way they love and look after us?? <3

    Hello Poet on the Piano,
Be it a pedigree or a mongrel, I honestly believe one can have no greater a companion. When all else is in doubt, in ‘Baxter’ you can have faith in. I have very much enjoyed this fine poem of love, loyalty and indubitable friendship. Well done indeed.
    Regards, Tony.
