Life-Changing

Alarm goes off
You're half asleep
You haven't stopped
Still counting sheep

There's no time to
Try and rest
The suns not up
But feeling stressed

Robotic now
A shower, shave
Then caffeine
Is what you crave

You check your phone
At such a rate
This now the way
You communicate

Run out the door
Can't miss the train
You're trying hard
To feeling sane

A crowded stand
Makes this a task
When everyone's
Wearing a mask

A mental note
Don't touch a thing
The virus is
In full swing

Stand face to face
What this implies
Everyone looks
With accusing eyes

Relieved to be
In the town
The streets are bare
No one around

High-rise buildings
Standing tall
Emphasizing
How we're so small

Key card scanned
And take the lift
Contemplating
The working shift

The office now
Feels like a cell
First thing you do
Is hand wash gel

Log on to e-mails
Feeling deceived
Co-workers absent
Is what's received

You don't know if
You'll cry or laugh
Yet another day
You're understaffed

Yet experts say this
Hasn't yet reversed
It won't get better
Until it gets worse

For this to stop
And to win the fight
Each day is getting harder
To see the light
