Hugs

by Shae   May 15, 2020

A gesture quite clear and true
A gift from me to you
To arouse feelings that never existed
Share emotions that were once resisted

Open the eyes to physical features
Delicacy, fragility
Scent.
But more contact

A new sense of relief
Also a sense of captivity
It always spoils the relationship
Changes from personality to body

Then it opens doors for immorality
Exactly, the enemy
exactly, the adversity
Fear.

So, no, I shouldn't hug you
I wouldn't hug you
And I couldn't hug you
Even though I wanted to.
