Living Nightmare

by Walter   Jun 1, 2020

It's sad but it's true we've been there before
Sometimes with love someone loves more
And you are aware when it feels like an act
But you just go on ignoring the facts

No longer the same since it all began
Refusing to believe your love has a span
Promises once made but no longer kept
Turn a blind eye under the carpet they're swept

Conversations you try end so abrupt
Everything you say will just interrupt
When once you both shared all of your feelings
Though now have no clue what they're concealing

The voice in your head you try to ignore
Without it the silence is loud as a roar
When was the last time that you both kissed
And not made to feel it's because you persist

And now all we share seems to be just our bed
But I count the hours before there you'll head
Though I'm wide awake my silence I keep
It's easier for you to pretend I'm asleep

It doesn't take long till you start to dream
While this living nightmare is all that I stream
I wish when I wake that this will be gone
But it won't as my eyes still open at dawn
