A Journey In Life

When you're born, you are quite small
The mountain looks so very tall
Its jagged rocks do not invite
To reach the top seems such a height

Now you're one and start to walk
But so young and can only gawk
You're able to make it to the edge
And reaching the top can only pledge

Still young and reached the age of four
You start your climb up from the floor
Though you don't make it very high
It makes you feel like you can fly

Suddenly at the age of seven
Now start a path that leads to heaven
Determined to make it to the peek
Just small steps as you are week

Moving much quicker now you're a teen
There's so much you've already seen
Growing strong and no longer fear
The top is looking very near

In your twenties and success you taste
Here there's no time you can waste
You take more risks still in your prime
And effortlessly now seem to climb

Thirties are when you reach the top
But this now where you have to stop
Feeling invincible and wanting more
You made it so high from the floor

But success can take a sudden turn
Unstoppable but then you learn
The risks are high when on this trip
It won't take much for you to slip

Seeing life flash before your eyes
Falling so quickly to your demise
Your whole life climb to success
Now suddenly ending in distress

Let this be a lesson to learn
Life's not about just what you yearn
If you don't appreciate it on the way
When it's too late...there's no replay
