What on earth could have inspired such a heart-rending write?

My favorite part. It's not just the emotion, and the meaning. It's the way you worded it, it was brilliant.

Stunning write. Oh my goodness it's piercing! I have learned the hard way that childhood memories are unreliable and fickle and are not to be trusted and that the truth is often even worse. Some things are just left well alone ... memories - even if false- are often kinder than the truth :-) x
