Five Reasons Why I Love You

by Walter   Aug 5, 2020

Imagine if I turned blind
Then you I'd never see
And I would have to picture you
From a memory

Imagine if I was deaf
Alluring words I'd never hear
Your voice only heard in my mind
And no longer in my ear

Imagine if I couldn't smell
And no more could breathe you in
Your sweet aroma not filling my lungs
With the fragrance of your skin

Imagine if I lost my taste
How I'd feel so incomplete
No longer able to feed my hunger
When you used to taste so sweet

Imagine if I didn't feel
Now this would hurt the most
If no more I could sense your gentle touch
Each time that we were close

I can't imagine this life
Without you I would strive
And only you feed all my five senses
That makes me feel so alive

Walter I love your romantic poems. Anyone who has ever been in love could relate at some level. Losing tbat closeness would be like losing part of you. A well written piece. Milly x
