Is It Really Sober?
Aug. 23, 2020

I asked, "if it was over yet?"
They asked, "if I was sober yet?"
They asked, "if I could commit?"
I asked, "what am I supposed to quit?"

The judging?
The passionate loving?
The drink, the bong, the pills, this song?
I'm a jack of all trades
But not exquisite at any.
You tell me to rehab the vices.
But we all have so many.

You said it was a clock,
Instead it was a glock
Staring back at me.
What does sober really mean?

We all hate.
We all love.
Some more than others.
We self-doubt
And do for others
As we go without.

Should we sober up on laws?
And humanity's core?
"When will it be over?"
"When will you be sober?"

You said it was a clock,
Instead it was a Glock
Staring back at me.
What does sober even mean?

You shoot my faith,
My presentation.
You shoot me looks
With misinterpretation.
I'm supposed to sober off what keeps me sane!
Yet you get high off of playing with my brain!

Sober is the calm before the storm.
So sober up with the TRUTH.
Because the world will keep you drunk and warm
And farther from the sober you.
Is it really over,
Our strength to become sober?
