You are no man

by Shining Stars   Sep 26, 2020

Time is relentless;
The weight on my chest crushes my lungs as I try to gasp for air-
Unsuccessfully.
Go ahead and laugh;
You always get the last laugh,
The last words,
The last win.
But it’s okay because I’m taking my crown off now and giving it back to you;
I don’t want it.
You can be royal on your own.
You can be on a high horse on your own.
You can brag about yourself and complain about me;
On your own.
I’m not even waving a white flag,
I am simply walking away because you are not worth the battle anymore.
I never really knew you but it’s alright-
I know you now and while it hurts everyday,
I’m glad I walked away.
You were insensitive to my sensitivity;
You played your games well and won everyone else over while making me out to be the bad guy.
I wasn’t perfect;
But at least I wasn’t brutal to you.
I didn’t lead you on.
I didn’t use you.
I didn’t throw you on the doorstep like trash when I was done.
You may be a great father-
But you are no man.
