Long Lost Love

by Soulful Ensemble   Sep 27, 2020

Long lost lovers haunt hearts
That hold on to memories.

Forgotten faces, blurry eyes—
The passion never ending.

Kisses, words of love, pretty names
Are but scars now standing.

Laughter, smiles, and warmth
I used to hold my hand in.

Now it’s but a shadow—I’m lost,
And your trace commands me.

I reach for what was tender
Buried in dust and ember.

We were once one, years ago—
Don’t you remember?
