Music To My Ears

by Walter   Nov 17, 2020

Was it the light in your eyes that reflected on mine
Was it the way that you smiled as if you stopped time
Or maybe the glow of your skin which made me feel warm
Or your perfect composure just like an art form

Was it hearing your voice the moment you spoke
Or the subtle suggestions that you evoke
Was it my full attention which you demand
Or the way you so innocently offered your hand

Was it the café where we continued to talk
Or the path that led there on our meandering walk
Was it the table for two that we would both share
Or in the moments of silence our eyes would just stare

Was it the romantic music a violin would play
Was it the time we shared and how long we'd stay
Or our coffees gone cold from sipping so slow
Or despite our agenda neither would go

And looking back now to all the above
I cannot pinpoint when I'd fall for love
But each moment since shared I know we belong
As forever the violin's still playing its song

Walter, I like the questions posed and the nice conclusion. Have you ever considered writing a sonnet?

Edit: I see you have. Nice work.
