It's a coincedence, as I love double haikus/senryus/syntuits but don't see them often. I've read two of them in the past day!
Anyway, l really liked this one. I've always thought that putting everything you need to say into so little is really difficult, but this seems effortless. Enjoyable, if a little dark.

Droughts are really sad, people still do suffer because of them.

I rather liked this. Particularly "no fish for dinner".

"desiccated" is such a concrete and bleak adjective; I don't see it too often and it hit hard here as the first word. I felt the hopelessness in this, the despair, the inability to do much but anticipate death. Powerful, Hellon.

I've always liked the word, 'dedicated', I think this came from mum's jam sponge with sprinkled dedicated coconut. Yum! As for these haiku's the imagery is powerful as is the suffering. I presume that the dried river is due to man disturbing the flow and to hell with the consequences!
