Hold me close

by rosey   Aug 20, 2021

Let me breathe you in.
Let me trail my fingers on your skin,
Grazing the stubble on your face.
Let us fall deeply into this place.

Have your heartbeat drum upon my ear,
Let me cry a river or a tear,
Being fully open, just to you,
And connecting heart to heart, so true.

Let me press my cheek into your neck,
And then rest your chin upon my head.
The calming fragrance of your hair,
Relieves my tension everywhere.

Your firm caress, it’s what I need,
To feel your comfort surround me,
Your strength fueling my vulnerable state,
Reminding me that I am safe.

I never want this hug to end,
I never want your touch to leave.
When I am trapped inside your arms,
It’s often when I feel most free.

So in these moments, few at hand,
Whether cheek to cheek or face to face,
I hope you truly understand,
How much I value your embrace.
